Sunrise Holiday Closures

Sunrise Learning generally is closed for the same holidays that schools are. The exceptions to this rule are that Sunrise Learning is open on all Professional Development Days  and stays open over Spring Break as well. If students are going away for Spring Break we ask that their parents contact Laura in the office so that they are not charged for sessions that they won’t use. 250-287-9090.

Homework Help for Middle and High School Students

Some students come to Sunrise Learning to get support with homework. There is no academic assessment for these students, as their marks provide constant feedback on their progress. These students range in age from middle school to high school and typically attend for 1 or 2 hours a week. Call the office today to give your child the Sunrise Advantage! 250-287-9090.

Giving Students the Sunrise Advantage

Sunrise Learning’s  Programs are built on Canadian Achievement Tests. Students are assessed using a variety of other material as well and programs are built for each student’s specific needs. All materials used by a student have been designed to help them improve on the areas that the assessment determines are their greatest areas of need. Reports are sent every 12 hours to keep parents informed about the progress of their child. Our students are given the same Achievement Test after 36 hours of tutoring time and a report is sent home documenting their progress. The goal is to improve one grade level in 36 hours, but our students often improve several grade levels. At Sunrise we focus on improving confidence and building foundational skills that will last a lifetime.

Registration

Registration is on going at this time. Academic assessments are a great way to find our where your child is at and occur in the first 2 hours of tutoring. This allows Sunrise to collect information about your child that is used to develop an individual program for a specific subject. An exception to this guideline is students that are beginning readers as they start at the beginning of the Sunrise curriculum. Most of our students attend one or two hours per week depending if they are enrolled in the Math/Reading and Writing or both. Once the assessment is complete, parents will get a copy of the results. Parents will continue to get written reports every 12 hours of tutoring time to make sure that they are aware of the progress their child is making. Please call the office to register your child. 250-287-9090.
